Marriage and divorce

l received a call from my sister's 10year old child, she was crying saying " how l wish l was of your age, that way maybe l would have done something to get mom and dad back together." Believe me those words touched my heart yet there was nothing l could do to change the situation that was there. It was killing the little girl inside to see her mother and father drift apart for reasons she could not understand. The only thing the child wished for was to see her mother and father back together and living as a happy family like always

The hidden truth to people who divorce is that children are the one's who suffer more. They are always left with so many unanswered questions, they grow up with confusion not knowing who was to blame for the divorce between the mother and the father. I just ask my self way is that the rates of divorce are so high these days? Why do people get married then divorce later. Doesn't the words "l do" that people say in front of the priest mean nothing anymore? I really do not understand why people who were willingly expressing love in front of everyone can just go apart just like that. Stories have come out in the media about how divorce rates are increasing in the country yet people do not seem to take action against it.

It is really a shame because while parents find new partners and move on with their lives, children just keep crying wish that they could have their parents back together. what has happened to our society that used to value marriage? What is going to happen to the next generation? Will people continue getting married and maintain their vows or they will just marry today and divorce tomorrow? How about the children who grow up with separate parents, what are they going to think about marriage? Will they ever see the reason of getting married? l just wonder.....
